Mánuka Honey is unique to New Zealand and to obtain pure Mánuka Honey is a specialised task for beekeepers. Mánuka Honey is more difficult to extract and has a limited harvest period as it is only collected at certain times of the year. Every spoonful of Happiness is capturing purity and natural goodness from the unique Mánuka nectar.

Not all Mánuka honey is created equal and unique signature compounds in the honey can vary greatly. This is all related to natural environmental factors and including the purity of the sites the bees collected the honey from and strength of the tree.  Every jar of Happy Valley UMF® Mánuka Honey is tested and certified for natural MGO & DHA and Leptosperin content. The UMF number tells you how much of these natural markers is in your jar of honey.

Happy Valley UMF® Mánuka Honey is:

  • 100% New Zealand Origin
  • Tested and Certified for UMF® potency, purity and quality
  • Tested to meet MPI Monofloral Guidelines
  • Raw and unpasteurised- just as nature intended

TRUST THE INDEPENDENT STANDARD –UMF®

Why UMF®?

When it comes to UMF®, there really is no comparison – it’s the global independent standard for Mánuka honey.

When you see the UMF® mark on your jar of Happy Valley Mánuka Honey it means it’s been independently certified for quality, purity and authenticity by the UMF® Honey Association of New Zealand (UMFHA). As well as regular monitoring, the UMFHA also conduct random sampling to ensure Mánuka honey carrying the UMF® mark is always true to label.

Only the UMF® testing process measures the presence of all three signature compounds, Leptosperin, DHA and Methylglyoxal, that together indicate high quality, authentic Mánuka honey.

Other rating systems test for only one or two of these compounds. Or, they may even test for something else entirely, like pollen, which is an inaccurate measure. The UMF® number that appears on the label indicates the level of the unique Mánuka properties within the honey. The UMF® analysis and rating process gives you a much more comprehensive and assured view of what’s in your honey. What Do the Numbers Mean?
