Honey Red Sangria

Honey Red Sangria

Tasty & Easy Sangria with Honey

A cold fresh Sangria is the perfect summer drink to sip your way through the hot weather. This recipe is prefect for christmas day and can easily be doubled to suit your crowd.

Creating a sangria means you can play and jazz up the recipe whatever way you like. Adding honey as a sweeter mean you can skip adding refined sugar from lemonade or orange juice. As you know sugary drinks and hangovers go hand in hand!

 Ingredients:

1 750ml bottle of red wine
1/2 cup brandy
1 apple, sliced
2 oranges, one sliced and one juiced
1 lemon, sliced
3 tbsp Honey or to taste
Optional: sparkling water

Garnish: with extra orange slices, mint leaves, sage, or canberries.

Method:

1. Dice the apple, orange, and lemon into small pieces. Make sure to leave the peels on and toss them into the pitcher along with the orange juice.

2. Add around 3 tbsp of honey (more to taste), make adding the honey to the mixture easier by thinned it out in warm water

3. Pour the wine, brandy and honey sweetener into the pitcher. Then stir everything together until it's all combined. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight. The longer it sits, the more time the flavors can meld together.

4. Serve this in individual glasses over ice. Then top with sparkling water if you'd like!
