A Guide to Winter Wellness

A Guide to Winter Wellness

As the weather gets colder, the winter environment can have a big impact on our wellbeing. In short, viruses become more common, due to 2 reasons:

  1. We spend more of our time indoors, which can result in more close encounters within confined areas, that in turn may increase our chances of getting sick.
  2. The decrease in humidity means that viruses tend to survive in the air for a much longer time.

While this can all sound rather scary, there are things we can do to help look after our immune system and help it to fight viruses such as the common cold. We’ve put together a winter wellness pack to make caring for your immune system easy! The pack includes:

So let’s dive into what’s so special about these products…

Propolis

Propolis is the shield that bees construct around their hives in order to protect it from disease. So, it’s no wonder that propolis can be beneficial for helping our immune systems. With its antifungal, antibacterial, AND antiviral properties, it’s your immune systems new best friend!

Our NZ Propolis & Honey is a yummy way to get your dose of propolis, and the perfect addition to your pantry.

Our Propolis Extract (15%) can be added to water and gargled, added to a drink, or applied directly into the throat. You can also inhale it through steam.

Bee Pollen

Bee pollen is not only a natural multi-vitamin, but it’s also considered a ‘complete food’ (meaning it contains basically all the nutrients one needs to be healthy!!). It can help with fighting infections and nasty bacteria (e.g. those winter viruses we were talking about above). So let’s just refer to bee pollen as your immune systems other, new best friend.

Our bee pollen granules can be sprinkled over yoghurt, mixed in with granola, added into a homemade slice, scattered over roasted winter veggies… or just take with water!
